There are a few tricks you can do, those I am discussing in my video above. The important theme here is to ‘set the stage’ right for the best possible outcomes. So for example, if you take your time and really put effort to ensure your evening routine is thought out thoroughly. You will go a long way to healthy and reenergizing sleep.
If you do the opposite, don’t be surprised when you wake up in the morning feeling groggy and haven’t rested well.
This one is usually overlooked by a majority of the shift workers. More and more people are starting to use fitness trackers to actively monitor their sleep. I encourage you to be one of those people. You see fitness bands are relatively new gadgets but they deliver results. It’s the only way to accurately monitor how many hours you have slept with little to no effort. All you really need to worry about is to ensure it is charged every few days. It sits comfortably on your wrist doing all the hard work. All you need to do check your phone and get the data.
Use this data to actively monitor your total hours and minutes of sleep. Access to this information will allow you to get the deep insight which can then be turned into action. Fix your sleep related issues by first identifying your habits.
For example, I used to drink lots of liquid before bed and not enough during day time. It usually made me feeling sleepy during the day. More importantly, I would wake up at night many times because of that. It helped me understand the importance of drinking during the day and reducing liquid consumption before the evening. Now I barely wake up at night.
