A few people have asked me what this whole website, a video-based project of mine is about. My answer is not always clear, unfortunately. Mostly because I am still trying to figure that out myself.
My vision is simple – I want to find a variety of ways to boost my productivity and help my time management go through the roof. To be a top performer and get more done than most of the people out there.
How am I going to achieve these results? I will experiment with all sorts of techniques and ways to try and do that. Along the way, I will document my progress here and share with you.
I’m sure most of you have seen movie ‘Limitless’. Bradley Cooper is a struggling writer, who accidentally comes across a secret pill sold by his friend. It unlocks his mind to all the information he has ever seen and gives him superpowers to learn and achieve.
I have dreamed about this pill for months after watching it. Unfortunately, such thing will never exist. On the other hand, there are smart drugs out there which boost your mental performance.
I am very excited to speak about my newest experiment.
Nootropics are a class of cognitive enhancing supplements that are used to improve concentration and boost memory power. Nootropics are often used to increase attention spans, help individuals focus and as studying aids.
You will occasionally see Nootropics referred to as “smart drugs” as they are associated with increased intelligence, motivation, and mental energy.
However, unlike smart drugs which can often cause negative side effects with long-term use, nootropics must be safe, neuroprotective and pose a very low risk of side effects when used appropriately. To learn more click here.
What nootropics are not?
This is not an NZT-48 (Drug in Limitless movie). It will not suddenly make you a genius and able to learn to play piano in 1 day. It should be treated and looked at like your morning coffee or tea. It helps you concentrate and focus better to some extent.
For all the sceptics out there, check out this link before you start condemning this entire experiment.
First, let’s quickly recap on the most important Vitamins and food for your brain to work most efficiently.
Important Vitamins to start with
Vitamin B (Complex) – If you have low levels of vitamin B12, you may feel weak, have less energy, and experience slow thinking. Learn More
Omega Oil (DHA / EPA) – Is an essential supplement found in fish oil. It has numerous effects on your heart health and brain health. Learn More
After a tonne of research, I have locked myself into 3 choices, to begin with.
Noopept is one of the most effective and strongest of all the Nootropic supplements on the market today.
It has been found improve memory, learning capacity, focus, and concentration. Learn more about noopept.
I have tried it for 3 days so far. After about 20-30 minutes taken together with Choline supplement, it starts to work. At the beginning, I start to feel a mild surge in motivation, clear of mind and undeterred focus. After about 45-60 minutes all colours start to look brighter, I start to feel excited about my work which I was planning to do. Words are flowing and taking action feels effortless. I almost feel like I would like to sit back and relax but then I tell myself it’s time to work and get it done.
It lasts for about 4-5 hours and then fades away. It should be taken 3 times per day to have a continuous effect.
Together with caffeine or tea?
May not be a great idea, especially with a strong coffee. There’s a possibility to get jitters and feel too energetic, having a brain fog. When it’s difficult to maintain focus and actually reverse the positive effects. Green tea, on the other hand, seems to work quite well. Again as long as consumed wisely.
Aniracetam’s well-documented positive mood and anti-anxiety properties, combined with powerful cognitive enhancements and a demonstrated lack of side effects, make it one of the most popular nootropics on the market. While some users report an initial feeling of mental fogginess, the effect is usually temporary and within a day or two aniracetam’s true nootropic nature starts to have a noticeable effect.
In addition to generally elevating mood and lessening anxiety, aniracetam can enhance creativity while improving verbal fluency, comprehension, and memory retention. Users have reported a distinct feeling of calm and relaxation along with increased learning capacity, greater social ease and fluency, and better focus and attention to mental tasks over longer periods. There are also some reports that visuals may seem enhanced by aniracetam, appearing deeper and more vivid.
It is not a quick fix. I took it twice for 2 days and no noticeable effects have been felt. A quiet opposite of Noopept.
It should be taken for days and weeks before any effects can be felt. It will be one of the long-term tests of mine. Also, it pretty much has no side effects which mean that it can be a good choice for the worried people. It should assist you with public speaking and word fluency over the longer term. I will update but for now, it’s not much I can say.
3. Choline (Alpha GPC or Choline Bitartrate)
Choline is essential for both brain and body. It is natural and therefore one of the most popular nootropics out there. An essential nutrient generally classed with the B vitamin complex, choline is crucial to maintaining health at every age and is used to treat and prevent an amazing variety of physical diseases and disorders, including asthma, hepatitis, and even cancer.
But for nootropic users, choline is particularly important because of its ability to enhance memory, focus, and cognitive function, both alone and in combination with other supplements. It’s the precursor to acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter most strongly associated with memory, learning, and overall cognitive function, and is well known as a brain booster in its own right. Choline also enhances and amplifies the effects of other nootropics and is considered by many to be an important component of every nootropic stack. It’s particularly effective in combination with the racetams, which are among the most popular and potent smart drugs.
I bought Choline Bitartrate which is the weaker option. I use it to enhance the effect of Noopept mostly for now. I think it works really well for that specific reason. Some people use it on their own and it works well.
This is my brief summary of 3 very popular nootropics. I will explore this field more in the future. I think having a mental edge in our daily activities may very well be the necessary step to succeed in whatever we chose to do. Let me know what you think and I will be sure to respond!
